Water Independence

We are committed to securing our district's future by advocating for the Inner Harbor Desalination Plant. This critical infrastructure ensures our community's long-term water independence, protecting against the rising costs and environmental threats of traditional sources. By prioritizing local control, we safeguard the health and prosperity of District 4 for generations to come.

The Expertise District 4 Needs
I’ve proudly called this city home for four years and I’m running for council to serve the community I love.
I bring three decades of experience to this work:
• 31 years in the Army, leading teams, managing budgets, and making tough decisions under pressure.
• Years as a nurse practitioner, solving complex problems quickly when the stakes are high.
• Service as a professor at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, where I rely on data, research, and critical thinking every day.
This mix of military discipline, clinical judgment, and academic rigor is what I’ll bring to every decision I make for District 4.

Policy Priorities
Dr. Anderson is dedicated to advocating for District 4 on multiple fronts, ensuring progress and security that extends well beyond water security to every aspect of our community life.
Public Health
Infrastructure & Transportation
Drugs and Homelessness
Securing Our Water. A major crisis nearly paralyzed our city, and the risk remains high today. I am committed to restarting the Inner Harbor Desalination Plant and the La Quinta Channel site immediately. These vital projects were stalled at a heavy cost to taxpayers. Resuming their construction is my top legislative goal.
I am committed to full financial transparency in our city government by implementing granular public tracking for every tax dollar from budgetary approval to final spending. My focus is on strict fiscal responsibility and oversight, ensuring all public funds provide measurable benefits to our citizens.
We'll bolster safety by uniting law enforcement with mental health and addiction resources to tackle the homelessness crisis effectively. Dr. Anderson will demand tangible metrics for success, ensuring that our city balances genuine compassion with the necessary restoration of civic stability.
Additional District 4 Development
I oppose fee increases that vanish into the general fund and will demand that every dollar from resident and visitor costs stays on the Island. I will prioritize dedicating this revenue to essential infrastructure and long-overdue amenities like a new VFW building, a community center, and the Sea Life Center to ensure accountability to District 4.
